Local firm donates household goods to Ronald Mcdonald House Charities UK
Staff from Droitwich-based professional services firm Ballards LLP have recently delivered a collection of food and household goods to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. The collection will be converted to a cash donation for the charity.
In the event that families do not live close to a hospital where a child is being treated, Ronald Mcdonald House Charities UK provides free accommodation and meals so that parents can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments.
Ballards LLP has been raising money for Ronald McDonald House Charities UK as their nominated charity of the year since June and fundraising activities have included participation in the Worcester City Half Marathon and 10k Runs and a luxury gifts raffle. In the coming months, the firm also has plans to raise money for the charity via a Christmas Santa’s Grotto and a fundraising black tie event.
Steven Jones, Business Development Partner at Ballards, said: “It is great that we have been able to raise this amount for Ronald McDonald House Charities this year so far. The work that they do makes a huge difference to family members during what may be a particularly worrying and stressful time. We still have lots of exciting plans for further fundraising which many of our staff are keen to get involved in.”
Charlotte Smith, Community Fundraiser at Ronald Mcdonald House Charities UK, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Ballards’ charity of the year. Each year we help 6,000 families stay close to their children in hospital which costs us on average £25 per family per night. Every donation allows us to help even more families and we are very grateful for Ballards’ ongoing support.”
