Ballards were a huge help in preparing and guiding us, liaising directly with various departments and suppliers to pull a massive amount of information together
(Guy Barker - Operations Director)
Key challenge
PSE has recently reviewed and improved its operating platforms. With this change, the business recognised the need to ensure these changes would be secure and meet national standards set by National Cyber Security Centre. However, they encountered some challenges, such as managing time constraints, the process of achieving certification, and effectively overseeing and benchmarking their systems.
Work completed
Ballards LLP was selected to conduct a Cyber Essentials Readiness Assessment, providing an independent review. The information gathered was analysed and benchmarked against Cyber Essentials standards, including a review of policies and cloud applications. This process involved identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with PSE’s 3rd Party Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure all necessary actions were completed to meet the Cyber Essentials standard.
Once all improvement actions were successfully completed, Ballards prepared the Cyber Essentials submission for PSE, addressed any queries and acted as the liaison with the IASME Consortium (certification body), resulting in PSE successfully achieving Cyber Essentials certification.
Results
Ballards' review, benchmarking and assistance with remedial actions enabled PSE to achieve Cyber Essentials accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to cybersecurity.
